60 US dollars
North Main Avenue

Service Description

Every play starts with an idea, but getting that idea onto the page is where the real work begins. This workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of playwriting and helps them begin shaping stories specifically for live performance. Participants will explore how to develop characters, create believable dialogue, build conflict, structure scenes, and think about how a story lives onstage. The workshop will also look at how playwrights revise their work and use feedback to strengthen a script. # MHRT Class Booking Policy We’re excited to have you join us! Because our classes rely on a minimum number of participants to cover instructor and program costs, we ask that you review the following before registering. ### Registration & Payment Full payment is required prior to the start of class. Your registration is not considered complete until payment has been received. ### Refunds & Cancellations All class registrations are **non-refundable**. Class sizes are limited, and cancellations can leave seats that are difficult to refill, especially close to the class date. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. Registrations **cannot be transferred to a different class or session**. No-shows and missed classes are not eligible for refunds or credits. ### Minimum Enrollment A minimum of **8 registered students** is required for a class to take place. If minimum enrollment has not been reached, MHRT may cancel the class approximately **7 days before the scheduled date**. If MHRT cancels a class, registered participants will first be offered the opportunity to attend a rescheduled session. If a rescheduled option does not work, a full refund will be provided. ### Ages & Youth Registration Most MHRT classes are designed for a wide range of ages. If a participant is **under 12**, please contact us before registering so we can make sure the class is a good fit. Participants under 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. ### Late Arrival Participants are welcome to join if they arrive late, but instructors may not be able to repeat material or instruction that has already been covered. ### Photos & Video Photography and video may be captured during MHRT classes for promotional, educational, archival, and marketing purposes. By participating, you acknowledge that you or your registered minor may appear in this media. ### Accessibility MHRT wants our programs to be welcoming and accessible. If you or your participant needs an accommodation, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to help. By registering for an MHRT class, you acknowledge and agree to this booking policy.
